🍥🤎 Cinnamon Rolls
Soft, fluffy rolls swirled with cinnamon sugar and topped with a sweet cream cheese glaze.
Ingredients
Dough
- 3½ cups (440 g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (50 g) sugar
- 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ¾ cup (180 ml) warm milk
- ¼ cup (60 g) melted butter
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp salt
Filling
- ⅓ cup (75 g) softened butter
- ¾ cup (150 g) brown sugar
- 1½ tbsp ground cinnamon
Cream Cheese Glaze
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1–2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Make the Dough
- Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix in melted butter, egg, salt, and flour.
- Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled.
- Prepare the Filling
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together.
- Shape the Rolls
- Roll dough into a rectangle about 12 × 18 inches (30 × 45 cm).
- Spread with softened butter.
- Sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Roll tightly from the long side and cut into 12 rolls.
- Second Rise
- Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
- Bake
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Make the Glaze
- Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Mix in powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough milk to reach a spreadable consistency.
- Finish
- Spread the glaze over the warm rolls and serve.
Tips
- Add chopped pecans or walnuts to the filling.
- Mix raisins into the cinnamon sugar for extra sweetness.
- Serve warm for the softest texture.
