Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Tender beef patties simmered in rich onion-mushroom gravy until melt-in-your-mouth delicious. This comforting slow cooker classic is perfect over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.


🧾 Ingredients

For the beef patties

  • 1 Β½ lbs ground beef
  • Β½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

For the gravy

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

1. Make the patties

In a bowl, combine:

  • ground beef
  • breadcrumbs
  • egg
  • chopped onion
  • garlic
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • salt & pepper

Form into oval patties.


2. Brown the patties

In a skillet, lightly brown patties on both sides.

This adds flavor and helps them hold together.


3. Prepare the slow cooker

Place sliced onions and mushrooms in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Add browned patties on top.


4. Make the gravy

Whisk together:

  • beef broth
  • gravy mix
  • cream of mushroom soup

Pour over patties.


5. Cook

  • Low: 6–7 hours
  • High: 3–4 hours

The patties become incredibly tender while the gravy thickens beautifully.
