These Mushroom & Swiss Burger Foil Packets are juicy, cheesy, and incredibly easy to make. Everything cooks together in one packet for a flavorful meal with minimal cleanup—perfect for the grill, oven, or campfire.
🧾 Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 cups baby potatoes, halved
- 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the patties
Mix ground beef with:
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- Worcestershire sauce
- salt & pepper
Form into 4 burger patties.
2. Build the foil packets
Lay out large sheets of heavy-duty foil.
Add potatoes first, then onions and mushrooms.
Place burger patties on top.
Add a little butter or drizzle with olive oil.
Seal packets tightly.
3. Cook
Grill Method
Cook over medium-high heat for 20–25 minutes.
Oven Method
Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25–30 minutes.
4. Add the cheese
Carefully open packets during the last few minutes and place Swiss cheese on burgers.
Close loosely until melted.
5. Serve
Serve directly from the packets or on toasted buns.
