Grill Pan Honey Glazed Steak Strips

Posted on June 11, 2026

Tender, juicy steak strips coated in a sweet and savory honey glaze, then seared to perfection in a grill pan. This quick and flavorful dish is perfect for weeknight dinners and pairs beautifully with rice, vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Ingredients

For the Steak

  • 1½ pounds (680g) sirloin or flank steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

For the Honey Glaze

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish

  • Chopped fresh parsley
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Season the Steak

Pat the steak strips dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the steak with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.

Step 2: Prepare the Honey Glaze

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes until smooth.

Step 3: Heat the Grill Pan

Place a grill pan over medium-high heat and allow it to get very hot. A properly heated pan helps create beautiful grill marks and locks in the juices.

Step 4: Cook the Steak

Working in batches if necessary, place the steak strips in a single layer on the hot grill pan. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.

Step 5: Glaze the Steak

Reduce the heat to medium. Pour the honey glaze over the steak strips and toss gently to coat. Cook for another 1–2 minutes, allowing the glaze to thicken and caramelize around the meat.

Step 6: Serve

Transfer the steak strips to a serving platter. Spoon any remaining glaze from the pan over the top.

Garnish with chopped parsley and sesame seeds if desired.

Tips for the Best Steak Strips

  • Sirloin provides excellent flavor and tenderness, while flank steak offers a slightly chewier texture.
  • Slice the steak against the grain for maximum tenderness.
  • Avoid overcrowding the grill pan to ensure proper searing.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the steak in half of the glaze for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Keep a close eye on the glaze, as honey can caramelize quickly.

Serving Suggestions

These honey glazed steak strips pair wonderfully with:

  • Garlic butter rice
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Roasted vegetables
  • Grilled corn on the cob
  • Fresh garden salad
  • Buttered noodles
