- 1 cup sugar

Instructions
1. Prepare the oven
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Grease a 12-cup muffin pan or line with paper liners.

- Melt butter in a bowl.
- Whisk in sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
3. Fill the muffin pan
- Spoon batter into muffin cups about ¾ full.
4. Bake
- Bake for 12–15 minutes.
