Ingredients
For the Beef
- 1 pound flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
For the Stir-Fry
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
For the Sauce
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, toss sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let sit for 15–20 minutes.
2. Cook the Beef
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Sear beef in batches until browned, about 2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
3. Stir-Fry the Vegetables
Add remaining oil to the skillet. Cook peppers and onion for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds.
