Ingredients
- 1½ pounds Italian sausage links (mild or hot)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce or crushed tomatoes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
1. Brown the Sausage
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Cook sausage links until browned on all sides, about 8–10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
2. Cook the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add peppers and onions.
Cook for 8–10 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized.
Add garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute.
3. Simmer
Return sausages to the skillet.
Pour in marinara sauce or crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10–15 minutes until sausages are fully cooked and flavors blend together.
4. Serve
