Fried Vidalia Onion Rings

Ingredients

  • 2 large Vidalia onions
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1¼ cups cold sparkling water or beer
  • Oil for frying

    2. Make the batter

    Whisk together:
