Sausage Gravy

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

1. Make Biscuits (if homemade)

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Add milk and mix until dough forms.
  5. Roll out, cut biscuits, and bake 12–15 minutes until golden.

2. Cook Sausage

  1. In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned.
  2. Break into crumbles while cooking.
  3. Do not drain all the fat (needed for gravy base).

3. Make Gravy

  1. Sprinkle flour over cooked sausage and stir for 1–2 minutes.
  2. Slowly pour in milk while stirring constantly.
  3. Cook until gravy thickens (5–7 minutes).
  4. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

4. Serve

  1. Split warm biscuits in half.
  2. Pour hot sausage gravy generously over top.
  3. Serve immediately.
