Fried Fish Recipe 🐟❤️
Ingredients
- 500–700 g fish fillets or whole cleaned fish
- Tilapia, cod, catfish, snapper, or haddock work well
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Coating
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional for extra crunch)
- 1 tsp seasoning salt
For frying
- Vegetable oil for deep frying or shallow frying
Instructions
1. Season the fish
Pat fish dry with paper towels.
Season with:
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
- Garlic powder
- Lemon juice
Let sit for 15–20 minutes.
2. Coat the fish
Mix flour, cornmeal, and seasoning salt.
Dredge fish evenly in the coating mixture.
Shake off excess flour.
3. Fry the fish
Heat oil to about 175°C (350°F).
Carefully place fish into hot oil.
Fry:
- Fillets: 3–5 minutes per side
- Whole fish: 7–10 minutes depending on size
Cook until golden brown and crispy.
4. Drain and serve
Remove fish and place on paper towels or a wire rack.
Serve hot with lemon wedges.
