Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets
    • Cod, tilapia, haddock, snapper, or salmon
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp flour (optional for light crust)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

Lemon Butter Sauce

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Zest of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Optional: pinch of chili flakes

Instructions

1. Season the fish

Pat fish dry.

Season with:

  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika

Lightly dust with flour if you want a slightly crisp surface.

2. Cook the fish

Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Cook fish for:

  • 3–4 minutes per side for thin fillets
  • 5–6 minutes for thicker fillets

Fish should flake easily with a fork.

Remove and set aside.

3. Make the lemon butter sauce

In the same pan:

  • Melt butter
  • Add garlic and cook briefly

Stir in:

  • Lemon juice
  • Lemon zest
  • Chili flakes (optional)

Simmer for 1–2 minutes.

4. Finish

Return fish to the skillet and spoon sauce over the fillets.

Sprinkle with parsley.
