Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 225 g cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3–4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the cheesecake layer

Preheat oven to 160°C (325°F).

Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.

Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and sour cream.

Pour into a lined springform pan.

Bake for about 40–45 minutes.

Cool completely, then chill.

2. Make the red velvet cake

Increase oven to 175°C (350°F).

Mix dry ingredients in one bowl.

In another bowl whisk:

  • Buttermilk
  • Oil
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla
  • Vinegar
  • Red coloring

Combine wet and dry ingredients.

Divide into two cake pans and bake for 25–30 minutes.

Cool completely.

3. Assemble
