1. Prepare the batter
Make cake batter according to package directions.
Divide into two bowls:
- tint one pink
- tint one blue
Add cotton candy flavoring if using.
2. Bake
Pour into greased cake pans and bake according to package instructions.

3. Make frosting
Beat butter until fluffy.
Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Divide frosting and tint portions pink and blue.
4. Assemble the cake
