This comforting copycat version of the classic Cracker Barrel meatloaf is tender, flavorful, and topped with a sweet tomato glaze. It’s classic comfort food at its best.
🧾 Ingredients
For the meatloaf
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup crushed buttery crackers
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- ½ green bell pepper, finely diced
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
For the glaze
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp mustard
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the oven
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lightly grease a loaf pan or baking dish.
2. Mix the meatloaf
In a large bowl, combine:
- ground beef
- crushed crackers
- onion
- bell pepper
- eggs
- milk
- cheddar cheese
- salt & pepper
Mix gently until combined.
3. Shape & bake
Form into a loaf shape and place in the pan.
Bake for 30 minutes.
4. Add the glaze
Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.
Spread over the meatloaf and bake another 25–30 minutes until fully cooked.
