Fried squash

If you’re looking for a simple recipe for Fried Squash:

Ingredients

  • 2 medium yellow squash, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or cornmeal for a crispier coating)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the squash.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat the squash slices evenly in the flour mixture.
  4. Heat about ½ inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the squash in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  6. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot.

Optional additions: garlic powder, paprika, grated Parmesan, or a side of ranch dipping sauce.
