Philly Cheesesteak & Onion Rings

Juicy sliced steak, melted cheese, sautéed onions, and crispy onion rings — this combo is bold, cheesy, and seriously satisfying.

Philly Cheesesteak

Ingredients

  • 450 g ribeye or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone or cheese sauce
  • 2 tbsp oil or butter
  • Salt & black pepper

Instructions

1. Cook the Vegetables

  1. Heat oil in a skillet.
  2. Sauté onions (and peppers if using) until soft and caramelized.
  3. Remove and set aside.

2. Cook the Steak

  1. Add steak to the hot skillet.
  2. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook quickly over high heat until browned.

3. Melt the Cheese

  1. Return onions to the pan.
  2. Place cheese over the steak mixture.
  3. Let melt slightly.

4. Build the Sandwich

  • Fill toasted hoagie rolls with cheesy steak mixture.

    Ingredients

    • 2 large onions, sliced into rings
    • 1 cup flour
    • 1 tsp paprika
    • Salt & pepper
    • 1 egg
    • 1 cup milk
    • Breadcrumbs or panko
    • Oil for frying

    Instructions

    1. Dip onion rings into flour.
    2. Coat in egg and milk mixture.
    3. Cover with breadcrumbs or panko.
    4. Fry until golden and crispy.

    Serving Ideas

    Serve with:

    • Fries
    • Pickles
    • Cheese sauce
    • Ranch or spicy mayo

    Tips

    • Freeze steak briefly before slicing for thinner cuts.
    • Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispy onion rings.
    • Toast rolls lightly to prevent sogginess.
    • Add mushrooms or jalapeños for extra flavor.
