Pizza Burger Pie –

Ingredients

For the Pie

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 refrigerated pie crust or homemade pie dough
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 20–25 pepperoni slices (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional Toppings

  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Bell peppers
  • Black olives
  • Cooked sausage
  • Red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Press the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
  5. Spread half of the mozzarella over the bottom of the crust.
  6. Add the beef mixture in an even layer.
  7. Spoon the pizza sauce over the beef.
  8. Top with the remaining mozzarella, cheddar cheese, and pepperoni.
  9. Add any additional toppings you like.
  10. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  11. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.

Tips

  • Pre-bake the crust for 8 minutes if you prefer an extra-crispy bottom.
  • Add a layer of sautéed mushrooms and peppers for a deluxe pizza version.
  • Use a deep-dish pie plate for a thicker, heartier pie.
