Ingredients
For the patties
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp oil or butter for frying
For the onion gravy
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Make the patties
In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Shape into 4 oval patties.
2. Brown the patties
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Cook patties for about 4–5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
3. Cook the onions
In the same pan, melt butter and cook sliced onions until soft and golden, about 10 minutes.
