Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla essence (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Mix butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Make a soft dough.
- Roll small balls and place on a baking tray.
- Flatten slightly with a fork.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes until light golden.

- Chocolate chips
- Crushed nuts
- Coconut
- Raisins
Without Oven
You can also cook them in a covered pan:
- Preheat a large pot/pan with salt underneath for 10 minutes.
- Place cookies in a greased tray inside.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 15–20 minutes.
Serve with tea or milk.
