Ingredients
- 300โ400g thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin)
- 1 large hoagie roll or sub bread
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1/2 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1/2 cup mushrooms (optional but classic)
- 2โ4 slices provolone or cheddar cheese
- 1โ2 tbsp butter or oil
- Salt & black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Optional Sauces
- Mayo
- Hot sauce
- Mustard
- Garlic butter (for bread)
Instructions
1. Cook the Veggies
- Heat butter or oil in a pan.
- Sautรฉ onions, peppers, and mushrooms until soft and slightly caramelized.
- Remove and set aside.
2. Cook the Steak
- In the same pan, cook steak over high heat.
- Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Cook quickly (2โ4 minutes) so it stays tender.
3. Combine & Melt Cheese
- Add veggies back into the pan with steak.
- Mix everything together.
- Lay cheese on top and cover until melted and gooey.
4. Assemble Sandwich
- Toast the hoagie roll (optional but highly recommended).
- Fill with cheesy steak mixture.
- Add sauces if desired.
