Stuffed Shells with Ground Beef 🍝
Ingredients
Pasta
- 20–24 jumbo pasta shells
Filling
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Cheese Mixture
- 2 cups ricotta or cottage cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Sauce
- 3 cups marinara or pasta sauce
Instructions
1. Cook the pasta shells
Boil jumbo shells according to package directions until just al dente.
Drain and rinse gently with cool water.
2. Cook the beef
In a skillet over medium heat:
- Cook onion until softened
- Add garlic and ground beef
Cook until browned.
Season with:
- Italian seasoning
- Salt
- Pepper
Drain excess grease.
3. Make the filling
In a bowl combine:
- Cooked beef
- Ricotta
- Mozzarella
- Parmesan
- Egg
- Parsley
Mix well.
. Stuff the shells
Spread a little sauce in a baking dish.
Fill each shell with the beef-cheese mixture and place into the dish.
Pour remaining sauce over the shells.
Top with extra mozzarella if desired.
5. Bake
Cover with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for:
- 25 minutes
Uncover and bake another:
- 10 minutes
until bubbly and golden.
