Succulent Garlic Butter Lobster & Scallops with Herbs

Tender lobster and perfectly seared scallops coated in rich garlic herb butter — an elegant seafood dinner packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Seafood

  • 2 lobster tails
  • 1 lb sea scallops
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Garlic Herb Butter

  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp chopped chives
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

Prepare the Lobster

  1. Using kitchen shears, cut the top of lobster shells lengthwise.
  2. Gently pull meat upward and rest it on top of the shell.
  3. Pat dry and season lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Sear the Scallops

  1. Pat scallops very dry with paper towels.
  2. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear scallops for 2–3 minutes per side until golden crust forms.
  5. Remove and keep warm.

Cook the Lobster

  1. In the same skillet, add lobster tails shell-side down.
  2. Cover and cook for 4–6 minutes, flipping once, until opaque.

Make the Garlic Herb Butter

  1. Reduce heat to medium-low.
  2. Add butter and garlic to skillet.
  3. Cook about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in:
    • lemon juice
    • lemon zest
    • parsley
    • chives
    • thyme
  5. Spoon butter sauce over lobster and scallops.

Serve With

  • Garlic mashed potatoes
  • Risotto
  • Roasted asparagus
  • Buttered pasta
  • Crusty bread

Tips

  • Dry scallops thoroughly for the best sear.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Use fresh herbs and lemon for bright flavor.
