CARAMEL FROSTING

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup milk or heavy cream
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Make the caramel base

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir in brown sugar.
  3. Cook for 1–2 minutes until smooth and bubbling gently.

2. Add creaminess

  1. Pour in milk or cream slowly while whisking.
  2. Let it simmer for 1 minute, then remove from heat.
  3. Cool for 5–10 minutes (important for texture).

3. Finish frosting

  1. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  2. Beat until smooth, thick, and spreadable.

Texture Guide

  • Too thick → add a splash of milk
  • Too thin → add more powdered sugar
  • For drizzle → use while warm
  • For frosting → let it cool slightly
