Chocolate Fudge Cake
Ingredients
Cake Batter
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- 1½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot coffee or hot water
Fudge Frosting
- ½ cup butter
- ⅔ cup cocoa powder
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Make the Cake
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Grease two round cake pans.
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla.
- Stir in hot coffee or water last.
- Divide batter into pans.
2. Bake
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
3. Make Frosting
- Melt butter in a saucepan.
- Stir in cocoa powder.
- Alternate powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Add vanilla.
4. Frost & Serve
- Cool cake completely before frosting.
