Ingredients
Steak
- 1 ribeye, sirloin, or strip steak
- Salt and black pepper
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 garlic cloves
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
Eggs
- 2–4 eggs
- Butter or oil
- Salt & pepper
Fries
- 3 large potatoes, cut into fries
- Oil for frying or baking
- Salt
- Paprika or garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
1. Make the Fries
Crispy Method
- Soak cut potatoes in cold water for 20 minutes.
- Dry thoroughly.
- Fry or bake at 220°C (425°F) until golden and crisp.
- Season immediately after cooking.
2. Cook the Steak
- Pat steak dry and season generously.
- Heat a skillet until very hot.
- Add oil and sear steak:
- Rare: 2–3 min per side
- Medium: 3–4 min per side
- Well done: 5+ min per side
- Add butter, garlic, and herbs.
- Spoon butter over steak while cooking.
- Rest steak for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
3. Cook the Eggs
- Fry eggs sunny-side up, over-easy, or scrambled — however you like them best.
4. Plate & Serve
Serve steak with:
- Crispy fries
- Eggs on the side or on top
- Extra butter or steak sauce if desired
