White German Chocolate Cake with a Cheesecake Center!

This decadent dessert combines fluffy white cake, a rich cheesecake center, and the classic coconut-pecan topping inspired by traditional German chocolate cake. Creamy, sweet, and absolutely stunning for celebrations.

Ingredients

Cheesecake Center

  • 450 g cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

White Cake Layers

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1¾ cups sugar
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Coconut Pecan Topping

  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1½ cups shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

1. Make the Cheesecake Layer

  1. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Pour into a greased cake pan.
  4. Bake at 160°C (325°F) for 35–40 minutes.
  5. Cool completely and chill.

2. Prepare the White Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add egg whites gradually.
  4. Alternate dry ingredients with milk.
  5. Stir in vanilla.

3. Bake the Cake Layers

  • Divide batter between two greased cake pans.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden.

4. Make the Coconut Pecan Topping

  1. In a saucepan, combine evaporated milk, brown sugar, egg yolks, and butter.
  2. Cook over medium heat until thickened.
  3. Stir in coconut, pecans, and vanilla.
  4. Cool slightly.
