Oven Baked BBQ Ribs
Ingredients
- 2 racks pork baby back ribs
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
1. Prep the Ribs
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs for extra tenderness. Pat dry with paper towels.
2. Season
In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, and cayenne.
Rub seasoning generously over both sides of the ribs.
3. Bake Low and Slow
Place ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet or roasting pan. Cover tightly with foil.
Bake for 2½ to 3 hours until tender.
4. Add BBQ Glaze
Mix BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
Remove foil and brush ribs generously with the sauce mixture.
5. Finish the Ribs
Increase oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).
Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, brushing with extra sauce halfway through, until sticky and caramelized.
6. Serve
Let ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
