Classic Southern Fried Pork Chops š„š„
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Coating
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp seasoning salt
Egg Wash
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp milk or buttermilk
For frying
- Vegetable oil
Instructions
1. Season the pork chops
Pat pork chops dry.
Season both sides with:
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Cayenne
Let sit for 10ā15 minutes.
2. Bread the chops
In one bowl:
- Mix flour, cornstarch, and seasoning salt
In another bowl:
- Whisk eggs and milk
Dip pork chops into egg mixture, then coat in flour mixture.
Press coating firmly onto the meat.
3. Fry
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Fry pork chops for:
- 4ā6 minutes per side
depending on thickness.
