Ingredients (Serves 6–8)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3–4 cups chopped cabbage
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14–15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper
Instructions
- Brown the beef
In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess grease. - Layer in the crockpot
Add cabbage, uncooked rice, cooked beef mixture, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, broth, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. - Stir well
Mix everything evenly so the rice cooks properly. -
Cook
- LOW: 6–7 hours
- HIGH: 3–4 hours
The cabbage should be tender and the rice fully cooked.
- Serve
Spoon into bowls and enjoy hot.
Optional Add-Ins
- Shredded cheese on top before serving
- Red pepper flakes for heat
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Tips
- If the mixture thickens too much, stir in extra broth near the end.
- Brown rice may need extra cooking time and more liquid.
- Freezes well for meal prep.
