How to Make a Butterscotch Pudding Dessert:

This creamy, rich dessert combines buttery brown sugar flavor with silky pudding and a fluffy topping. Easy to make and perfect chilled.


🧾 Ingredients

For the crust

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • ΒΌ cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp sugar

For the pudding layer

  • 2 boxes instant butterscotch pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk

Cream cheese layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container whipped topping (Cool Whip), divided

Optional toppings

  • Butterscotch chips
  • Caramel drizzle
  • Chopped pecans

1. Make the crust

Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar.

Press firmly into the bottom of a 9Γ—13-inch dish. Chill while preparing the filling.


2. Prepare the cream cheese layer

Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.

Fold in half of the whipped topping.

Spread over the crust.


3. Make the pudding

Whisk pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened.

Spread carefully over the cream cheese layer.


4. Add the topping

Spread remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer.

Top with butterscotch chips, caramel drizzle, or chopped pecans.


5. Chill

Refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours before serving so the layers can set properly.


🍯 Delicious Variations

  • Add sliced bananas between layers
  • Use vanilla wafers instead of graham crackers
  • Mix crushed toffee candy into the topping
  • Make individual dessert cups for parties

❄️ Storage

Keep refrigerated for up to 4 days.

The flavor gets even better after sitting overnight.
