A ribeye is one of the juiciest and most flavorful steak cuts because of its rich marbling.
Ingredients
- 1 ribeye steak
- Salt
- Black pepper
- 1 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 garlic cloves
- Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Let the steak sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
- Pat dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a heavy pan until very hot.
- Add oil and place steak in the pan.
- Cook:
- 3–4 min per side = medium-rare
- 4–5 min per side = medium
- Add butter, garlic, and herbs.
- Spoon melted butter over the steak for 1–2 minutes.
- Rest the steak 5–10 minutes before slicing.

- Fries or salad
Steak Doneness Guide
- Rare: cool red center
- Medium-rare: warm red center
- Medium: pink center
- Well-done: little/no pink
For best flavor, use a cast-iron pan and avoid overcrowding the pan.
