Tender pasta shells stuffed with creamy ricotta filling, covered in rich marinara sauce, and baked under a blanket of bubbling cheese — classic Italian comfort food.
Ingredients
- 1 box jumbo pasta shells
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- Salt & black pepper
- 1 jar marinara sauce (about 24 oz)
Instructions
1. Cook the Shells
Boil pasta shells until just al dente.
Drain and rinse with cool water.
2. Make the Filling
In a bowl, mix:
- Ricotta
- 1 cup mozzarella
- Parmesan
- Egg
- Garlic
- Parsley
- Salt & pepper
3. Assemble
Spread a layer of marinara sauce in a baking dish.
Fill each shell with ricotta mixture and place in the dish.
Top with remaining marinara and mozzarella cheese.
4. Bake
Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
