Stuffed Jumbo Pasta Shells

Ingredients

  • 1 box jumbo pasta shells
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley or basil
  • 2–3 cups marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Add-ins

  • Cooked ground beef or Italian sausage
  • Spinach (sautéed and drained)
  • Garlic powder or Italian seasoning

Instructions

1. Cook the Shells

  • Boil shells in salted water until just al dente.
  • Drain and rinse with cool water so they’re easier to handle.

2. Make the Filling

In a bowl, mix:

  • Ricotta
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella
  • Parmesan
  • Egg
  • Herbs
  • Salt and pepper

3. Fill the Shells

  • Spread about 1 cup marinara sauce in a baking dish.
  • Spoon cheese mixture into each shell and place in the dish.

4. Top & Bake

  • Pour remaining sauce over shells.
  • Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella.
  • Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake 10 more minutes until bubbly and golden.
