Carnivore Chilled Custard Bites

Carnivore Chilled Custard Bites are a simple, low-carb treat made primarily from animal-based ingredients. Once chilled, the custard firms up enough to cut into bite-sized pieces.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional, if your carnivore approach allows it)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, melted butter, vanilla (if using), and salt until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into a lightly buttered 8-inch (20 cm) square baking dish.
  4. Place the dish in a larger pan and add hot water to the outer pan to create a water bath.
  5. Bake for 35–45 minutes, until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  6. Remove from the water bath and cool to room temperature.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Cut into squares or bite-sized cubes and serve chilled.

Optional Variations

  • Add a little extra butter for a richer texture.
  • Use browned butter for a deeper flavor.
  • Top with a small dollop of whipped heavy cream before serving.

Storage

  • Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • Best served cold, straight from the refrigerator.

These bites have a smooth, creamy texture similar to a firm egg custard, making them a popular dessert-style option for people following a strict carnivore or very low-carb diet.
